PUJA Academy Hosts Seminar on Structural Eurocodes Featuring Expert Ir. Tu Yong Eng
Bandar Seri Begawan, 27th August 2024 – PUJA Academy Sdn Bhd (PASB) is pleased to announce the successful conclusion of its seminar, “Introduction to Structural Eurocodes,” featuring distinguished speaker Ir. Tu Yong Eng, a leading representative from the Institute of Engineers Malaysia (IEM). The event, held at Universiti Brunei Darussalam, built on the foundations laid in Ir. Tu’s previous course, “Reinforced Concrete Design to Eurocodes 1992-1-1,” conducted on 14th and 15th May 2024.
With over 30 participants, including members of PUJA (Brunei) and representatives from the Ministry of Development, the seminar provided a comprehensive overview of the Eurocodes. Ir. Tu Yong Eng discussed essential standards such as EN 1990, EN 1991, EN 1992, and EN 1993, highlighting the advantages of integrating these codes into structural design for both buildings and civil engineering projects.
The session included an extensive analysis of Structural Analysis in accordance with BS 8110 and EN 1992-1-1, as well as practical guidance on critical topics such as Beam and Slab Design, Column Design, and Structural Detailing. Participants benefited from Ir. Tu’s detailed explanations and practical examples, enhancing their understanding and application of these essential engineering principles.
