CAFEO 42 was a groundbreaking annual summit that united engineers from across the ASEAN region in a celebration of innovation and collaboration. Hosted against the stunning backdrop of Sabah, Malaysia, this year’s event revolved around the theme “Charting ASEAN Growth with Digital Transformation, Smart Engineering, and Green Solutions.” This theme explored how the ASEAN region could advance toward becoming a digital economy and society by optimizing smart engineering methods and integrating sustainable solutions.
The summit delved into the pivotal role of digital transformation, smart engineering, and green solutions in propelling ASEAN’s growth trajectory. As the region experienced rapid urbanization and industrialization, embracing innovative technologies was essential for sustainable development. Through comprehensive discussions on key infrastructure, manufacturing, and energy sectors, the conference highlighted how leveraging digitalization and smart engineering practices enhanced efficiency, productivity, and competitiveness while minimizing environmental impact. Additionally, it emphasized the importance of green solutions in addressing climate change challenges and fostering resilience.
PUJA member, Ir. Chin Lee Tuck, discussed his paper titled “Assessing the Potential for Digital Transformation in Brunei’s Construction Industry: A Roadmap for Integrating Advanced Technologies” in Session 1, “Navigating Business Evolution: Digital Transformation and the New Consumer Paradigm.” He focused on the unique challenges and opportunities within Brunei’s construction sector and outlined a strategic roadmap for embracing advanced technologies to drive digital transformation.
