PUJA Academy Hosts Seminar on Engineering Sustainability: Empowering Brunei’s Future
Bandar Seri Begawan, 13th October 2025 – PUJA Academy Sdn Bhd, in collaboration with Polar Marine Pte Ltd, hosted a seminar titled “Engineering Sustainability: Empowering Brunei’s Future” at Atria Simpur Hall, Public Works Department. The event brought together construction industry professionals and academics to explore forward-looking innovations in the energy and construction sectors, with a special focus on how sustainable practices can shape Brunei’s future. In line with PUJA Academy’s commitment to nurturing the next generation, 15 students from Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB) and 8 students from School of Building Technology Services, IBTE also participated in the session. The seminar recorded an estimate of 120+ attendees.

The seminar featured four distinguished speakers who shared innovations driving sustainability across construction, energy, and clean technology. Mr. Sean Zee Kwok presented on digital platforms such as Building Information Modelling and Digital Twin systems, showcasing how modular and circular practices can reduce carbon emissions. Ms. Debbie Yan Hong highlighted advanced wellhead safety systems and shared global case studies from leading oil and gas projects. Mr. Kar Chai Tan discussed Castrol’s innovations in subsea systems, deepwater operations, and low-carbon fluids, while Mr. Chen Xing Wen explored integrated engineering solutions for petrochemicals, refining, and clean energy projects, including hydrogen and carbon capture initiatives.
Through this seminar, PUJA Academy reinforced its mission to equip Brunei’s construction and engineering professionals with global best practices while inspiring students to actively contribute to the nation’s long-term sustainable development.
