PUJA Brunei Institute of Engineers and Public Works Department Host Golf Charity Team Event 2025

Bandar Seri Begawan, 9 November 2025 – PUJA Brunei Institute of Engineers, in collaboration with the Public Works Department (JKR), successfully hosted the Golf Charity Team Event 2025 on Sunday, 9th November 2025, at the RBA Golf Club.

The tournament, played in the System 36 Strokeplay format (Handicap of the Day), attracted 82 participants, bringing together professionals and enthusiasts from Brunei’s engineering and construction community for a meaningful cause. The event fostered camaraderie, sportsmanship, and community engagement under the shared spirit of giving back. Proceeds from the game were donated to organization, namely, Persatuan Orang Kurang Pendengaran Kebangsaan (OKP) and Persatuan Orang-Orang Cacat Penglihatan Kebangsaan Brunei Darussalam.

The overall champion of the tournament was Muhd Irwan Hj Abd Hamid, IR.CO construction, who delivered an exceptional performance throughout the competition with a score of 66, 3-under par gross. Following that the winning team of the Golf Charity team event is Team Consultant/Contractor/Supplier with a total score of 470 stroke best 7 nett.

The event was co-chaired by Yang Mulia Ir.  Lim Sui Kau Alice and Yang Mulia Awang Aminuddin bin Haji Buntar (Director of Administration & Finance, JKR), Chairpersons of the Golf Charity Team Event, Institute of Engineers PUJA Brunei and JKR, whose leadership and dedication contributed to the success of the event.

Following the tournament, a Prize Presentation and Charity Donation Ceremony was held at the Dewan Atria Simpur Hall, Public Works Department. The ceremony was graced by Guest of Honour, Sr. Awang Haji Hanafi bin Pehin Orang Kaya Digadong Seri Diraja Dato Laila Utama Awang Haji Abdul Rahman, Chairman of Pertubuhan Ukur Jurutera dan Arkitek (PUJA) Brunei.

During the ceremony, charitable donations were presented to:

• Pengiran Haji Norahalim BPHA Rahman, representing the Persatuan Orang Kurang Pendengaran Kebangsaan (OKP), and
• Muhammad Hamzi bin Omar, President of the Persatuan Orang-Orang Cacat Penglihatan Kebangsaan Brunei Darussalam.
