Institute of Engineers, PUJA Brunei Participates in AFEO and YEAFEO Mid-Term Meetings
Yangon, Myanmar, 30th June 2026 – The Institute of Engineers, PUJA Brunei (IEPB) participated in the ASEAN Federation of Engineering Organisations (AFEO) Mid-Term Meetings, held from 28th to 30th June 2026 in Yangon, Myanmar.
The IEPB delegation was led by President Ir. Hj. Amer Hishamuddin PD Hj. Zakaria and comprised Ir. Hj. Iskandar bin Dato Paduka Hj. Othman, Ir. Alice Lim Sui Kau and Chairman of PUJA Young Engineers, Awg. Faiz bin Adros. During the programme, the delegation attended a series of meetings including the AFEO Governing Board Meeting, ASEAN Engineers Register (AER) Board Meeting, Women Engineers of AFEO (WEAFEO) Meeting and Young Engineers of AFEO (YEAFEO) Meeting.
The meetings brought together engineering institutions from across ASEAN to exchange updates, strengthen regional cooperation and discuss initiatives that support the continued advancement of the engineering profession. Key discussions included reports from ten specialist sub-working groups covering areas such as building inspectors, sustainable cities, environmental sustainability and emerging technologies.
As part of the programme, delegates also visited Yangon Technological University, providing an opportunity to gain insights into engineering education and strengthen professional ties with fellow engineers, academics and institutions across the region.
During the meetings, Pertubuhan Insyinur Indonesia (PII) presented an update on the upcoming 44th Conference of the ASEAN Federation of Engineering Organisations (44th CAFEO), which will be held in Bandung, Indonesia from 20th to 22nd October 2026, and invited engineers throughout the region to participate.
IEPB’s participation reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening regional partnerships, supporting professional development and contributing to the advancement of engineering excellence through active engagement with the ASEAN engineering community.
