PUJA Brunei Admitted as Member of FEIAP at 34th General Assembly in Kuching
Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia, 5th September 2026 – PUJA Brunei, represented by Institute of Engineers, was formally admitted as a member of the Federation of Engineering Institutions of Asia and the Pacific (FEIAP) on Friday, 5th of September 2026 at the 34th FEIAP General Assembly held in Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia.
The Institute of Engineers PUJA Brunei was represented at the 34th FEIAP General Assembly by the President, Ir. Amer Hishamuddin Pehin Dato Hj Zakaria, Deputy President Ir. Iskandar bin Dato Paduka Hj Othman, Immediate Past President Ir. Chin Lee Tuck and head of Young Engineers’ section Awg Faiz bin Adroz.

FEIAP is an independent, non-profit umbrella professional organization founded on July 6, 1978, to represent engineering institutions across Southeast Asia and the Pacific. The objectives of FEIAP are to encourage the application of technical progress to economic and social advancement throughout the world; to advance engineering as a profession in the interest of all people; to foster cooperation and the exchange of information; to study issues concerning the education, continuing professional development and qualifications of engineers as well as to foster activities of institutions of engineers in its region.
FEIAP currently has 28 member economies and 3 Associate members. Among the institutions from member economies include Engineers Australia (EA), Institution of Engineers Malaysia (IEM), China Association for Science and Technology (CAST), Institution of Engineers Singapore (IES), Philippine Technological Council (PTC), Persatuan Insinyur Indonesia (PII), Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (HKIE), Chinese Institute of Engineers (CIE), Institution of Professional Engineers Japan (IPEJ), Korean Professional Engineers Association (KPEA), Institution of Engineers India (IEI), Institution of Engineers Bangladesh (IEB), Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC), The College of Engineers Peru (CEP), Institution of Engineers Rwanda (IER), Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE), Society of Engineers UAE (SOE) among others.

With the membership of FEIAP, Institute of Engineers PUJA Brunei will be able to access the wider engineering fraternity and leverage on the FEIAP Engineering Education Guidelines, which evaluate engineering degrees based on Outcomes-Based Education (OBE) to facilitate mutual recognition among member economies.
Internationally, PUJA Brunei is also a member of the ASEAN Federation of Engineering Organisations (AFEO), Architects Regional Council Asia (ARCASIA), the Pacific Association of Quantity Surveyors (PAQS) and the ASEAN Quantity Surveyors Association (AQSA).
